Ginisang sayote is a fairly simple (and cheap) dish to prepare. I used to avoid cooking this because it doesn't appeal to me that much. I only cook it when there's nothing left to cook or if I need another vegetable side dish. I've discovered that adding red peppers takes the flavor up a notch so that's what I did for this dish.
You needsayote (chayote)
red bell peppers
salt and pepper
Saute chopped garlic, onions and tomatoes in a little oil. Add the peppers. After one minute, add the ground pork. Wait for the meat to cook then add the chopped sayote. Cook for another minute and then add water for the soup. You can also use stock. Season with salt and pepper. Serve with rice.
