Baguio Country Club Cheese Bread

My sister went to Baguio, Ifugao, etc. last week. She brought home a bunch of goodies including this: It’s supposed to be a cheese bread but it’s filled with walnuts and dried fruit. It’s like a fruit cake inside. I didn’t like this. I like sweet and savory but this was just terrible. I like dried fruits as my grandma makes a mean fruitcake and she uses the same ingredients. I just didn’t appreciate this. It really tasted weird for me. The filling just does not go with the bread.

What To Do with Kangkong Stalks?

Some people don't like kangkong (water spinach) stalks whereas some don't even know that this part is edible. Some dishes don't include the stalks but I don't like throwing this away so I added the stalks to this classic tofu side dish. This is not adobong kangkong with tofu. The main ingredient is the tofu. Make a sauce of soy sauce, vinegar, sugar, onions and chilis.Mix well. Heat for a few minutes then add the stalks. Add the cooked tofu then your done! Very affordable and very tasty!
