A Twist on Tuna Pasta

IMG_1772

I have a pasta recipe that is similar to this but it uses other ingredients I thought I’d try it with tuna. The results aren’t similar. It tastes better with the original ingredients.

I think this recipe would be better with some chopped parsley. If you want to try and improve it, here’s the recipe.

Ingredients

You can do this two ways – with cooked or uncooked pasta. If using cooked pasta, the oven time is shorter. If using uncooked pasta, you need a lot of sauce.

tomato sauce
one can of crushed tomatoes
salt and pepper
one can of tuna
some thinly sliced potatoes
cheese of your choice (I know purists don’t like cheese with seafood but to each his own)
some chopped parsley
garlic
onions
olive oil

Let’s cook!

Saute some garlic and onions in olive oil. Add the drained tuna. Add the canned tomatoes and some tomato sauce. Season well. Add the pasta. Transfer to a baking dish and top with the potato slices and cheese. Pop in the oven until pasta cooks or if already cooked, until cheese melts/potatoes cook.
