Do you remember this chocolate bar going viral a few months back? I found it at S&R a few months ago and my friend asked me to buy a bar for her. I grabbed one for us too, see what all the commotion was about.
But before I even opened it, I already knew what was coming. She warned me: “It’s too sweet. All hype.” And oh, was she right.
Let’s break it down.
The chocolate? Sweet. Like, really sweet. If you enjoy the kind of chocolate that almost gives you a sugar high after one bite, this might be your thing. But for someone like me, who prefers dark chocolate and texture and depth in flavor over pure sweetness, it was underwhelming. The pistachio cream in the middle had a strange, gritty texture that clung to my teeth—not painful, just annoying. Thankfully, it melts away, so I wasn’t stuck picking out green bits from my molars all afternoon.
I’m not a fan of plain chocolate. I want crunch, layers, a little drama. This bar didn’t give me that. So… did I throw it away?
Of course, not. I'm Lady E. I like a good food challenge. π
I turned it into fudge. Because when life gives me bland (or overly sweet) chocolate, I don’t pout—I melt it, rework it, and make it better. And sprinkle sea salt over it. I tossed in some walnuts and dried fruit to balance out the sugar and add the kind of texture I crave. Just like that, this overhyped chocolate bar had its redemption arc.

Shall we?
Would I buy this chocolate again? No.
Would I make fudge again? Always.
So if you’ve got a bar of this sitting in your pantry, don’t toss it. Upgrade it.
Sometimes, a little kitchen magic is all you need to turn disappointment into dessert.
