Lady E Tries: The Sandwich Guy - South Triangle

The Sandwich Guy has been around for quite some time now. I think I first saw it at Century City Mall. I'm not a huge sandwich person. I mean, it's something that I can easily make at home, so why buy, right? πŸ˜†

But when you're staying at a hotel for 10 days, you have no choice but to order some familiar foods, and yeah, one of them is the humble sandwich.

My sister said that they regularly order from The Sandwich Guy. One night, when my son and I wanted something light, we decided to order The Great Tuna and Creamy Carbonara.

The Great Tuna

The Great Tuna would have been "Great" had it still been warm. The food came pretty fast, but both the sandwich and carbonara were already cold.

I did like that the tuna sandwich didn't have sharp cheese in it because the combination of tuna + mayo + sharp cheese = gum/tongue pain, right? Or is that just me? πŸ€”

It had a generous amount of tuna. And I'm happy to report that I didn't react to it! There are some tuna brands that I react to.

Good thing we had plastic knives in our food bag! If you're a regular here, you'd know that my son and I always share meals.

Oh, and the lettuce was fresh! Not sad and soggy at all.

Carbonara

This is Filipino-style carbonara. Instead of eggs, we use cream for the sauce. This one had bacon, ham, and mushrooms.

I like the fact that they didn't skimp on the meat, although I didn't like the bacon. Soggy bacon and I just don't agree.

This was delicious though, especially if it's hot.

It's weird that they sent us 3 forks and a spoon. πŸ˜†

Lady E's Verdict: 4/5

For the price of Php175 ($2.96) for the sandwich and Php179.20 ($3.04) for the carbonara, yes, I'd try this again! I just hope next time, they arrive hot.

They have salads and other sandwich flavors I'd like to try. If you're a regular at The Sandwich Guy, any suggestions?
