When you cook as much as I do—and especially when you have sensitivities like I do—you start becoming very particular about everything that touches your food.
Not just where you buy it. Not just how you cook it.
But even how you wash it.
For the longest time, I relied on Kurin water for rinsing my vegetables. I liked the idea of having something that helped remove dirt and possible contaminants, especially since some produce—like potatoes—still come in with bits of soil clinging to them. And let’s be honest, soil isn’t always just soil. It can carry bacteria and other things we don’t want anywhere near our meals.
So yes… I’m that careful.
⸻
Then one day, while walking through Landers, I saw this:
B&B Dish & Vegetable Cleanser.
It immediately caught my attention because it’s Korean—and if you’ve ever noticed, Koreans are very particular about cleanliness, especially when it comes to food and baby products.
And that’s what really sold me.
This isn’t just a vegetable wash.
It’s also used for baby bottles.
So in my head, I thought:
Okay… if this is safe enough for babies, then this is something I can trust in my kitchen.
Of course, I still did my research (because that’s how I am 😌), checked the ingredients, and decided to give it a try.
⸻
How I Use It
Very simple, but also very important to do it properly.
• I add one small drop into a bowl of water
• Let it foam up a little
• Then soak the vegetables for about a minute
If there’s stubborn dirt (especially on root vegetables), I use a silicone scrub to gently clean the surface.
Then comes the most important part:
👉 Rinse. Thoroughly.
And when I say thoroughly… I mean thoroughly.
⸻
Learn From My Mistakes 😆
Because yes, I made a few.
At one point, I applied the wash directly onto the vegetables.
Don’t do that.
Unless you want your carrots and zucchini smelling like a bouquet. 😆
Another time, I was in a hurry and didn’t rinse my leafy greens well enough.
I sat down to eat my salad… and at the bottom of the bowl?
Bubbles.
Yes. Actual bubbles. 😂
And a faint floral taste that definitely did not belong in a salad.
So now I make sure:
• Leafy vegetables are rinsed extra well
• Water is running through every fold and layer
⸻
What I Like
✔️ Gentle and safe (baby bottle level, which gives me peace of mind)
✔️ Effective at removing dirt, especially when paired with light scrubbing
✔️ Easy to use—no complicated steps
⸻
What I Don’t Love
The scent.
It smells good—don’t get me wrong.
But I personally prefer my vegetables to smell like… vegetables.
Not flowers.
So again, rinsing properly solves this. But it’s something to note if you’re sensitive to scents like I am.
⸻
Final Thoughts
Would I repurchase?
Yes.
Because at the end of the day, what matters most to me is peace of mind.
Knowing that I’m doing everything I can to keep our food clean, safe, and gentle on my body—that’s worth the extra step.
Especially when you cook not just for yourself… but for your child too.
⸻
Next up: what I actually did with all these vegetables—because none of them were going to waste on my watch. 😌
