My son's half of the burger
One day in Baguio, after a short tour of the BenCab Museum, we decided to go to Hill Station for lunch. But parking was full. This was on a week day, mind you! So we decided to go to nearby SM instead. But the traffic was terrible and we needed to go to Good Shepherd before they close. So, I told our driver to just go back to our hotel to eat at Quoted Cafe, the hotel's restaurant.
We ordered a burger and a creamy seafood pasta. Our driver just ordered cream of mushroom soup. He said he had a tummy ache. I wasn't able to take a photo of the burger anymore as we were hungry and in a hurry so here is my deconstructed burger. My son and I always share our food. Here's my half. It had bacon, aside from the patty, vegetables, and caramelized onions. It was served with fries, too.
This burger is good but was a mess to eat. There are a lot of sweet notes in there, so if you want a fully savory burger, skip this. The bread can't hold the stuff in it together that's why I used a fork and knife. The fries were just ordinary. Not even crispy.
The ice tea was superb! We even ordered another one, and we usually just share a glass!
Now, let's talk about this sad looking creamy seafood pasta. It had zero salt. I don't know if the chef forgot or if he was hoping that the saltiness of the seafood would carry the whole dish. They didn't! It was also spicy! I don't remember the menu saying that it was spicy. Had I known, I wouldn't have ordered this. I can eat spicy food, but I avoid it when I'm outside because it might trigger MCAS/histamine flare.
I do have to say kudos to the person who prepped the mussels. The beards were completely removed. It was clean inside.
I don't know what the black flakes in the sauce were. Maybe nori, but I'm not sure. The rest of the seafood didn't have any taste, well, because the sauce didn't have any. I just got the shrimps and mussels from this dish and left it.
I remember Quoted's food being really good back in December.. I wonder what happened.
