WEDNESDAY TASTE TEST: Mike Popcorn – Butter Shoyu Flavor

This week’s snack spotlight goes to a cult classic from Japan: Mike Popcorn in Butter Shoyu (Soy Sauce) flavor, straight from Hokkaido butter territory. ๐Ÿ‡ฏ๐Ÿ‡ต

✨ What it is:
Lightly crisp popcorn with a delicate balance of savory soy sauce and buttery richness. Think mellow, not salty. The bag even boasts 4.8g of fiber — about the equivalent of two lettuce heads worth (according to the package ๐Ÿ˜…). That is if you eat the whole bag, which my son and I did not do.

๐Ÿ‘… Flavor notes:

First bite: buttery umami, like the edge of a good shoyu ramen broth

Aftertaste: subtle, almost creamy like butter, with no artificial punch

Texture: super light, without leaving too much oil behind

๐Ÿ’ก Great for:

Bento snack boxes (check out my next post!)

Munching during journaling or blog-writing

Gentle savory cravings

๐Ÿงก My favorite part?
It didn’t overwhelm me. Some snacks come in loud and chaotic — this one felt polite. Japanese snack etiquette in popcorn form.

Rating: 10/10. Will buy again!
