I was very excited to try this kit, seeing as how much I liked
his other pasta kit.
I love pasta. It's a staple in my home. It's my go-to whenever I'm pinched for time or too tired to whip up something fabulous.
This comes in the same sleek packaging. Everything that you need is in the box.
It has sea salt and pepper, cheese, basil, and spice oil, which I skipped.
I forgot to take a photo again, sorry!
The Sauce
The sauce was thinner compared to the white sauce of the previous kit. I also felt that it wasn't enough. It also had very little meat in it whereas the first one had big chunks of bacon in it.
As for the meat itself, I'm still trying to figure out it it's real meat, though. 😆 It tastes like ground beef, but I have this nagging feeling that it's not all beef. Maybe it was modified to make it shelf stable.
The Taste
It's okay. There's nothing special about it. It's also not bad. It's just blah for me. We finished everything. Well, my son mostly. It was lacking depth, layers. I emptied the 2 packets of sea salt, but it was still bland. Or maybe it's because I added more pasta. But then again, I also added some salty pasta water. By the way, I tasted the sauce before I added the pasta water. It was really bland.
There was also less cheese in the packets compared to the cream pasta kit. Good thing we still had some parmesan.
The Verdict
I give it 3/5 🌟
Will I buy it again? Definitely. I'll just bastardize the sauce, like I always do. It's a good shortcut for me on days when I have low energy.
