A Quiet Afternoon, A Simple Snack, and Why That Was Enough

 

Do you know that feeling when sometimes you say, “I wish I had that as a kid?” With how fast technology is moving today, I find myself having a lot of those moments. 

It’s like every day there’s something new and exciting and innovative to try, not just with electronics, but with clothes, toys, books, and food.

Then one day, I said, “why not have it now then?” 

And that changed everything. 

They say not to lose your inner child. 

I’m pretty in touch with mine because I’m raising a child and I have a lot of unresolved issues that I’m working on. So my inner child really needs me. 

And if I can make her happy with a simple snack like these Doraemon chocolate cookies, I’d get her 10 packs in a heartbeat. 

But we only got one because we wanted to taste it first. Most of you know about my sensitivities and all, so I still have to be careful even with a simple snack as these chocolate cookies. 

I was having a hectic day when I reached for these cookies. This Doraemon pack was one of the snacks I brought to PBF. But we didn’t eat a lot there because of stress and the people and overstimulation. 

And that was good because I got to enjoy these cookies, at home, with my son on a hectic, but quiet afternoon.  

I’m not a huge Doraemon fan, but these cookies are pretty good - a pleasant crunch, chocolate that’s not sickeningly sweet, and that je ne sais quoi that kept me reaching for more until I looked and there was only one left in my strawberry bowl. 

My son also enjoyed these cookies and he doesn’t always like my choice of Japanese biscuits. 😆 So that’s saying a lot. 

These Doraemon chocolate cookies will always find a home in our snack bag and in my gifts.
