About 2 weeks ago, my son and I had a staycation at Red Planet Timog. On our first day, we went to UP Town Center. We were supposed to meet my mom and sister in UP, but we couldn't get a ride from the mall, so we just waited for them to pick us up.
It was 5:30 pm and we haven't had lunch. I decided to have a snack while waiting for them. We will have a family dinner, so a snack would suffice. The nearest place was Paul Le Cafe
As you can see, there weren't many savory options left.

I didnt want a cake or something overly sweet. I also didn't want any of the sandwiches as they would be too heavy. We settled on our favorite pain au chocolat:
It's a decent size. If I remember correctly, this costs $2.54.
I had high hopes. However...
I was met with air...lots of it. There was hardly any chocolate in it. I'm not a huge fan of too much chocolate in bread or pastry, but this was really lacking. You're better off with Lartizan's pain au chocolat. It tasted good though. The pastry had the right kind of flakiness. It wasn't tough to chew. Well, some parts were. I'd give this a 2/5 🌟
I tried to eat this slowly as we didn't know what time our ride was coming. My son inhaled it in less than 5 minutes, though. 😆 He agreed that it wasn't worth it.
I have a feeling that we'll be having more snacks there in the future. However, we will stay away from the pain au chocolat. 😁
