On our way back from Baguio, we stopped by a Shell Select for coffee for our driver and my family. I don't drink coffee, so my son and I perused the aisles for interesting finds. This is something I like doing in convenience stores, rest stops, groceries, and supermarkets. When I first saw the box, I already felt this wasn’t your typical neighborhood bakery cheese pie. The packaging alone—clean white, elegant gold accents, and that little window showing the golden top—makes it look like something you’d proudly bring to a family gathering or gift to a friend. Baguio Country Club Cheese Bread

My sister went to Baguio, Ifugao, etc. last week. She brought home a bunch of goodies including this: It’s supposed to be a cheese bread but it’s filled with walnuts and dried fruit. It’s like a fruit cake inside. I didn’t like this. I like sweet and savory but this was just terrible. I like dried fruits as my grandma makes a mean fruitcake and she uses the same ingredients. I just didn’t appreciate this. It really tasted weird for me. The filling just does not go with the bread.

Baguio Food Adventures June 2025: Aerolles Diner

I have so much food to share with you from our last Baguio trip that's why it's taking me so long to write a post for all of them. Here's another breakfast order. This time from Aerolles Diner - Bakakeng Norte via Grab. Tapsilog - Php159 ($2.81) This is marinated beef, egg, and fried rice. I got the tapa. The flavor was there, but it lacked something, perhaps a tad more salt? The meat was tender, though. The egg was alright, standard sunny side up. The rice.. oh, the rice. I didn't like it. It was too mushy and sticky for my taste. My son didn't like it as well. Tocilog - Php129 ($2.28) This is cured pork, egg, fried rice My son and I shared the Tocilog. It was just sweet. Too sweet. No other flavor. The meat was very tender, though! The cornsilog was good. I think this is a popular brand in Baguio. Almost all the cornsilog we ordered tasted like this. My son ordered this.
