| Pork Barbecue with Rice |
Happy New Year, everyone! I'm sorry I wasn't able to post last December. I was busy with orders. Most of you may know that I make a lot of paper products, sublimated items, etc. Basically a lot of craft items. You can find some of them on my Shopee and Gumroad (links below).
I'm making new plans this year and one of them is to be more active in this blog. I'm more active in Glow by Lady E, but I'm a huge foodie, so I can't really neglect this blog.
Anyway, I have several backlog posts for you and here's one of them.
Back when we were having our staycation we ordered some more food from Derick's.
Pork BBQ
The pork barbecue looked appetizing, but it was dry and a bit tough. It was flavorful though and a little sour. Well, maybe a tad too sour for me.
The sweet and salty flavors also need to be more balanced. I dont know if this is a fluke, but they can really improve their barbecue. It's a decent meal and the price is right, but if you're looking for tender juicy barbecue, this is not it.
Pork Binagoongan
As you can see in the photo, the serving is quite small. There were only two pieces of meat with big chunks of fat. I don't eat pork fat like that. There's one tiny piece of meat that was on the bone.
This was a bit spicy, but tolerable. Even my son was able to eat it.
My biggest problem with it is it's not salty enough! Binagoongan is cooked with bagoong, a fermented krill condiment that's salty. I guess they didn't put a lot of bagoong in this.
When I order binagoongan, I really want to taste the bagoong. I was disappointed with this one.
The pork was tender, though. It also had small strips of eggplants.
The packaging is very good. They covered the tray with cling wrap first before putting the plastic cover.
Final Thoughts
Even though we had a few problems with the dishes, we still finished them. It's not so bad that we had to stop eating them. The dishes were alright and Derick's still remains as one of our favorite places to get takeaway food from when we're in Quezon City.

’Til our next shared bite,
Stay cozy. Stay curious. Stay nourished.
LET'S EAT.
With grace, warmth, and a full heart,
Lady E
