Finally, we get to the good part of this series - the food!
Above is their chicken tinola. This was very delicious, however, it had lots of tiny ginger bits and I got rashes right after eating, even though I tried so hard to pick them off. I"ll never order this again. My son loved it though. It was perfectly seasoned. Most tinola from restaurants are under-seasoned, probably because they know a lot of people will ask for patis (fish sauce) and calamansi (calamondin).
I like their glasses and the wooden coasters. I'm a sucker for wooden dinnerware.
I think this is the Shanghai Platter. My sister was the one who ordered that night. I was too tired from our day at UP Town Center. This was also delicious, seasoned right. And surprisingly, it went nicely with the tinola. Most Filipinos like pouring soup on their rice and I felt that the rice and tinola complemented each other, even though tinola is supposed to be eaten with plain rice.
I think I only got some squash, long beans, and shrimps from this pinakbet. I'm allergic to most vegetables in this dish. This wasn't as good as the tinola and if I remember correctly, it was a bit bland. Good thing the rice is seasoned well.
The camaron rebosado was a disappointment. It had too thick of a batter and it made it soooo umay! Umay is when your tastebuds get tired of the same flavor. I love shrimps but I think I only got 1 or 2 pieces and I removed the batter.
My sister ordered the mango shake. It looks yummy, but it was night already and I didn't want to burden my digestive system. We already ate pain au chocolat earlier that day.
I'm pretty sure we also ordered chicken barbecue, although I didn't taste that as it was swimming in sauce. I like dry barbecues.
We visited Little Quiapo again on another day and that's up next.

’Til our next shared bite,
Stay cozy. Stay curious. Stay nourished.
LET'S EAT.
