Easy Breakfast Ideas For When You’re Pressed for Time

Hello, Eats Fam! I wasn’t able to blog yesterday because Lady Flo is in town.

While I was going through my archive, I saw these photos and thought that these are actually appropriate for my state right now. I don’t have a lot of energy during this time and I’m opting for quick-cooking meals.

Breakfast number one above is just toast, apples, garlic butter French beans, poached eggs, and sauteed tuna..from a can.

Strategy

Pop the bread in the toaster or oven. Boil some water for the poached eggs. Put a pan on another stove and sauté garlic and butter. Add French beans. Cook for a minute or two and transfer to a serving plate.

Add some oil and garlic. Put the tuna. Be sure to separate the chunks. Then season however you like. I think I seasoned this one with soy sauce.

After that, poach the eggs and peel and slice the apples or any fruit that you picked for that day. Simple but very filling.

Stir-Fried Noodles and Mantou

The mantou are frozen so just pop them in the steamer.

For the noodles, I think these are Hong Kong Noodles that are quick cooking. Just saute garlic and onions, add any protein that you like. I used kani sticks here and added some vegetables. This actually incorporated mostly leftover ingredients.

Then season however you like - soy sauce, oyster sauce, salt, and pepper, etc.

Siopao

I’m not sure if these are the Singaporean chicken siopao or the Century brand siopao. Either way, these are still super easy and convenient to prepare in the mornings, especially if you’re running late for work. Just pop them in the steamer, take a shower, and when you’re done, you have a warm, filling breakfast that you can either eat at home while getting ready or during your commute.

Chocolate Fish

Finally, chocolate fish. These are just waffles. Buy a waffle mix, prep it, and cook.

The fish below were actually made from scratch, but the idea is super simple and with the convenience of boxed mixes, you can make these in no time. Great for lunch boxes, too!

It’s the Holy Week, I hope you can find some time to recharge, reflect, and spend time with loved ones.
