There’s something about the first breakfast back home that feels quieter… softer… like your kitchen is slowly welcoming you again.
After 12 days of eating someone else’s cooking, I was so ready to taste mine once again. We got home after our 12-day vacation after lunch, on a Saturday, if I remember correctly. I brought home food from Sunday’s Restaurant. And that night, I think we still had food delivered because I was exhausted from unpacking (if you’re interested to know how I unpack in just 30 minutes, read this post).
So, my best window to cook was the following day at breakfast.
I kept it simple.
This was my plate. The wooden plate is from Baguio. Read about it here.
Luncheon meat, garlic butter French beans, eggs, fragrant pear slices, and a bag of pain au chocolat from One World Deli.
I cannot remember the price anymore, but I do remember the feeling when I saw this. I was hesitant to get it at first because of the price, seeing how small the pain are. But I still got 2 bags as this is my son’s favorite and I’m sure 2 pieces for him will not cut it.
Aside from the size, I was disappointed with the amount of chocolate inside. It reminded me of the pain au chocolat from Paul.
The chocolate was lacking.
The pastry itself was good, but nothing really special about it. I’d say that it’s a normal pain au chocolat.
Will I purchase again? No. I’m sticking to Lartizan’s pain au chocolat… and just a few weeks back, I discovered another very good pain au chocolat, so stay tuned for that feature!
It’s a Sunday afternoon here and I’m nursing some pain on my lower back from my big Lady E Home Edit. I’ll probably feature that in Glow when I finish.
I hope you’re having a fun or very relaxing Sunday on your side of the globe.
