Soft Luxe Flavors: Tagaytay - Rosario, Pamanang Panlasa Restaurant Review

We visited Rosario Pamanang Panlasa (formerly Josephine's) in Tagaytay. I wrote about the whole trip in my beauty, fashion, and lifestyle blog , if you'd like to read that. I also showed pictures of the restaurant, the view, and more. In this post, we will talk solely about the food. Before we sat down, we had a bit of a problem. My sister was using crutches as she has an incomplete fracture of the knee and the hostess who accompanied her suggested a table that would make her go down a set of stairs. 🤦‍♀️ Really? Fortunately, our server (whose name escapes me at the moment), was a star! He anticipated all of our needs and promptly catered to our requests. Baguio Country Club Cheese Bread

My sister went to Baguio, Ifugao, etc. last week. She brought home a bunch of goodies including this: It’s supposed to be a cheese bread but it’s filled with walnuts and dried fruit. It’s like a fruit cake inside. I didn’t like this. I like sweet and savory but this was just terrible. I like dried fruits as my grandma makes a mean fruitcake and she uses the same ingredients. I just didn’t appreciate this. It really tasted weird for me. The filling just does not go with the bread.

Good Shepherd Ube Crinkles vs. Amira’s Chocolate Crinkles: Which One Gets My Thumbs Up?

Pasalubong - noun. Homecoming gift. Two pasalubong classics. Two different cities. One sweet verdict. Baguio and Tagaytay each have their own crinkle pride—Everything Nice Cake Shop and Cafe ube crinkles that I got from Good Shepherd (Baguio) and Amira’s chocolate crinkles (Tagaytay) . At first glance, they couldn’t be more different: one’s a delicate purple bite, the other a deep cocoa round. But do they both deliver on taste? Good Shepherd Ube Crinkles Technically, I got this from Good Shepherd, but the brand on the packaging says Everything Nice Cake Shop and Cafe. Pretty on the outside, but the first bite was a letdown. The sweetness is overwhelming, and the strong coconut milk flavor overpowers the ube. It’s too rich, leaving little room for the gentle, earthy notes we expect from a true ube treat.
