I saw the poster for the new Goldilocks Paella one day when we passed by Alphaland mall. I vowed to try it as it looks soo good in the photo.

I was really disappointed when I tried it. The flavors just didn’t go together. I feel that this was a dish cooked half-heartedly. The chicken barbecue was also not a good fit. This dish was dry and lacked flavor. I didn’t like the fish as it was too “fishy” for my taste. What a disappointment…

We tried Bubba Gump for the first time ever as a treat to cousin C for her birthday.

mine is at the center (loved it!)
onion strings which lacked crunch
sampler plate
I only liked the tempura in this dish
in my opinion, this needs a more balanced flavor. I can only taste the tomato sauce and the peppers
They have family-friendly sections. The d├ęcor is nice too. My son especially loved looking at the colorful vintage pieces. He also wanted to take home the stuffed shrimp and octopus but my husband and I agreed that he was too young for stuffed animals and they were too expensive and not baby-friendly. We bought him other toys later that day. Our bill was a little less than Php2,000. I won’t go back to this place as I really didn’t like the food.

no matter how many times I try laksa, I just can’t learn to like it
look at that gorgeous dragon fruit
I’m not a huge dessert girl but I want to try new things every now and then. I think I only liked the chocolate cupcake in this bunch

my companion brought me some canapes

This was my usual plate – noodles, nasi, chicken curry, dried anchovies, cucumbers and some cold cuts.

my companion’s plate
She orders tea everyday
While I get my fill of fresh OJ daily
watermelon slices and dates
I feasted on fruits (especially watermelons) each day

There’s this burger place in the new Glorietta that’s called Big City. We’ve been wanting to try it out forever but were turned off with the prices. One day, we were already starving and it was the nearest place to go to. We ordered the following:

Chicken wings for me

Burger steak for cousin C

Burger for MB
Nothing tasted good… not even the fries. We didn’t like it all but we finished our plates (except for MB) nevertheless. The wings were still a bit bloody but I didn’t bother returning them as the food already took too long to arrive. The service is bad as well. When we followed up our order, the server made a face. The prices are high, the food is mediocre and the service was bad. Do I have a reason to go back? NONE at all.

After that disappointment, we went to get a bucket of fries at Potato Corner and a DQ treat. Here’s my favorite DQ treat:

3 generations of women in my family went to Hong Kong and Macau a few weeks back. Mom bought us some goodies for pasalubong.

She also gave us a few trinkets which I will post in my lifestyle blog.

I used the chili garlic sauce pack from Lee Kum Kee to make this quick dinner. I just fried the shrimps, drained them and drizzled the sauce over the shrimps on high heat.

My husband said to try the sauce with beef next time. I really like this!

I bought this at Landmark Supermarket. The taste needs a lot of getting used to. My husband didn’t like this. Cousin C doesn’t like it as well but she ate a few pieces. I tried to finish the whole tub by myself but failed after several days. It was just too salty for me.

It’s a bit spicy and sweet and very salty. I think the sweetness made the cheese saltier. I won’t repurchase this as it’s bad for my health. Too much salt…

Tried it, loved it. Will look for more recipes to use this!

I found this bag of potato chips at Landmark supermarket. I prefer imported snacks most of the time as they are less salty and I can digest them better. This is a great example of that. I like this better than regular potato chips. They look exactly like that, blue. I also feel that this is more filling (and healthier) than regular ones. That’s just my opinion though.

Mom got me more of this when she went to Hong Kong. But she got the smaller sizes.

I’m the only one who likes this as everyone else thinks that it’s weird that I’m eating blue potato chips. = )

We made a quick stop in Singapore before going home. I was so famished as I haven’t eaten in hours. Naturally, I ordered chicken rice as it’s my favorite Singaporean dish. I also had some dumplings and a bottle of Orangina. Yum!

I’m just baffled why there’s mashed potatoes on my plate..

By the way, I finished everything you see here.

I’m going through my pics so that I can finally post some backlog stuff.

We ate at a nearby kopitiam that served meals. I thought they only served coffee and breads. Anyway, I enjoyed the food. Here’s my companion’s plate:

Here’s mine. I love the chicken wings and the rice. Tomatoes, cucumbers, dried fish and peanuts were also staples in all my meals.

We also ordered fish ball soup. I liked this, my companion did not.

This was the second bowl. The first bowl had a strand of hair in it so I asked it to be changed. I showed the waitress the hair. Back in the kitchen, I could see the cooks looking for the hair which was left on my table.

I love the mugs and the big serving! I also like the taste. You can really taste the tea and a squeeze of lemon juice makes it perfect. I think we paid around 30 RM for this meal.

I found a couple of interesting stuff in the grocery beside our hotel:

We only have Ligo sardines here so this was a little bit crazy for me.

I love tao kae noi! This was really big! I didn’t buy because I might not be able to finish it in one sitting.

Light fixture in the hotel
This is me, getting bored from waiting a long time for the staff to fix my internet. Thus the selfie.

I forgot to post pics of our breakfast buffet back in Malaysia so here they are:

Here’s my first plate. They were offering cold cuts, breads, fresh salads, local and western food. On this plate I like the chicken sausage, turkey ham and the grilled tomato. The bread was okay too. They didn’t make very good dumplings.

The noodles were good but spicy.

This is like sapin-sapin but in my opinion, ours taste better. I took one bite of this and left it on my plate.

They also had fresh fruit which I always went for. They have different desserts. The food was the same daily so I stuffed myself silly with different kinds of nasi and chicken curry.

We have only been to SM Aura once so we took advantage of exploring the food scene there. My husband and I, we both love Thai food so we decided to try this place out.

We ordered Tom Yum/Yam because this is hubby’s favorite. This was really spicy! He forgot to order the milder version. It was good, not great. I couldn’t taste it very well because there was just too much heat. There were also just a few pieces of shrimp. This dish does not justify its price. It’s too expensive in my opinion.

We also ordered spring rolls. These were blah. I like the ones at Oody’s and Soi better.  They have more creative dipping sauces too. This is just sweet chili sauce.

Mango catfish salad is my favorite but I was seriously disappointed with this one. It was too dry.

I think this is crab fried rice. Sorry, I can’t remember as this was from a long time ago. I also didn’t like this.

All in all, I think the food is too expensive for its taste. The service is also bad. We stood at the entrance for a few minutes. A lot of servers saw us but ignored us so we just entered the restaurant. It also takes a long time for them to serve the food and serve what we asked for such as water/napkins, etc. even though we were seated very closely to the kitchen. The bathroom was nice but it was dirty. It had a nice view too as the the glass window is exposed but don’t worry, no one will see you. We will never eat in this restaurant again.
